Working from home is a dream for many people at the moment. The advantages of this career choice include:

- there is no more annoying employer
- you don’t have trudge in with the other commuters day in day out
- you organize your work time when you choose to
- you are chief of your own fate

If you are innovative, you can build a business from almost any ability you have, or indeed pastime you enjoy. Maybe you are something of an artist, and enjoy creating scrapbooks – if so did you know that scrapbooking can make for a truly great home based business?

This article sets out to provide a little direction, whether you have opted to venture down this route or are just gathering ideas.

One of the keys to taking scrapbooking from a pastime into a business is professionalism. You will need to take a lot of care to make sure the scrapbooks you deliver look impressive and professional if you are going to get repeat business from your clients. Make sure that, as your business moves on and grows, you continually look back at your goals to see how you’re doing, tweaking them if necessary as changes along the way are unavoidable. With consistent dedication and by keeping to your business plan, you will make this work – good luck and I hope you succeed.
